Red Hat Society members love to dress up in full regalia for their outings, and aside from
purple outfits with
red hats, displaying accessories is equally important to Red Hatters. One way that Red Hat Society sisters display some of their many
accessories is with a
red or purple sash.
Sashes are a great place to put all membership
pins and anything that sparkles. Red Hatters are creative and enjoy crafts which can be incorporated into the creation and giving of the special
sashes.
Sashes can be awarded at ceremonies to honor Red Hat sisters for many different accomplishments, and are decorated accordingly.
Pins, sequins, ribbons,
appliques, and jewels are just some of the many embellishments that are used to spice up a
Red Hat sash. The Chapter Queen of each chapter may wear a sash with
pins and decorations to indicate her place on the
Red Hat hierarchy. She also has the great honor of taking on any name she sees fit based on her personality and the event that she is attending. When attending a Tea, for example, she may wear a
sash for the day that says “Tea Party Queen.” Co-Queens may also wear
sashes to events to indicate their titles.
All members can wear
sashes to add to their regalia or to display their
pins and personalities. Red Hatters spare nothing to have the most detailed and elaborate outfit creations to wear to their events. After all, they are proud to be the energetic and spirited women that make up the Red Hat society!
